Thanks for the feedback Doug. I’ve addressed these issues in the latest patch.

Thanks for taking a look Xuefu. I wanted to be explicit about the fact precision and scale
on the schema are maximum values, not the actual (fixed) values, since there has been some
confusion on this (during the discussion here). I can change it though if there's consensus
that the “maximum” qualifier is redundant.
