Subject [jira] [Updated] (AVRO-1251) Adding the compression option to NettyTransceiver
Date Thu, 14 Feb 2013 22:07:12 GMT

Ted Malaska updated AVRO-1251:
------------------------------

    Attachment: AVRO-1251.2.patch

Here I make two new functions in TestNettyServer:

1. initializeTransceiver
2. initializeServer

TestNettyServerWithCompression and TestNettyServerWithSSL need only to implement these two
methods now. So in the end we have removed a lot of cut a paste code.

> This is a more focused JIRA related to AVRO-1121.
> The goal of this JIRA is to:
> 1. Be able to set up a NettyServer that will accept compressed and uncompressed requests
from clients.
> 2. Be able to set up NettyTranseiver that supports compression options.
> The initial design is to allow the compression to be an option at setup of the server
or client and implement this compression with Netty's own ZLibEncoder and ZLibDecoder
