Subject [jira] [Commented] (ATLAS-1101) A less chatty REST API style required for UIs
Date Thu, 16 Mar 2017 21:38:41 GMT

Sarath Subramanian commented on ATLAS-1101:

This is fixed in 0.8 and master since UI have started using V2 APIs for types, entities, lineage
and search.

> The current style of the REST API has references everywhere there can be. I think that
when we use this style of REST API we would need to constantly issue more RESt calls to find
the referred to object.
> For UIs a less chatty style of Rest API would be easier to use and more performant. I
suggest having subobjects included in the responses rather than the reference (href) . I think
we would need a paging capability to ensure that we do not get swamped with lots of data.
