Seems this problem only impacts older CMake versions on Debian platforms (including Ubuntu),
and it was fixed in https://github.com/Kitware/CMake/commit/620939e4e6f5a61cd5c0fac2704de4bfda0eb7ef.
I'm not sure about an appropriate workaround (we could vendor GNUInstallDirs.cmake)
