Subject [jira] [Reopened] (ARIES-676) Make Aries bundle modelling API consumable by non-OSGi clients
Date Wed, 22 Jun 2011 06:47:47 GMT

Valentin Mahrwald reopened ARIES-676:

One more thing to add for ease of consumption is to package all Aries into a single distribution
jar (similar to the uberbundles), with just the external dependencies (like slf4j not included)
because they might be different on the system where the jar will be used.

> Currently a client wanting to hook into the modelling code that is an Apache Aries has
the choice of consuming a fair chunk of the Aries runtime or use the standalone-tool (which
in turn again includes a sizable chunk of runtime).
> As additional option I would like to make the Blueprint parsing and Application modelling
code consumable by itself, even outside OSGi as plain libraries :) As a side effect that should
make the standalone tool smaller as well ...
