Could you please explain what you mean exactly by "optional inputs"?

For an input to be "optional" it should have a default value at its
definition.
(Note that there is also the "required" flag for parameters but that is
only respected at parse time)


We would probably be better to provide better help if you were to add an
example snippet :)
