DOM tree, libxml 1.8.x.

the version on http://virgule.sourceforge.net - xvl [a stand-alone
executable] - makes heavy usage of the SAX interface in 2.x.

i even use one of the _internal_ SAX functions, and i'm praying you
don't delete it from the library!
