Subject Problems while Installing Ant in fedora 9
Date Fri, 19 Mar 2010 19:29:01 GMT
Hi!!!
I was trying to install Ant in Fedora 9 . I had set the following
environment variables
export ANT_HOME=/usr/local/ant
# export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_18/
# export PATH=${PATH}:${ANT_HOME}/bin
# runant.pl

But I received following error.
 java -classpath /usr/local/ant/lib/ant-launcher.jar
-Dant.home=/usr/local/ant org.apache.tools.ant.launch.Launcher

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
org/apache/tools/ant/launch/Launcher
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
org.apache.tools.ant.launch.Launcher
    at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:217)
    at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
    at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:205)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:323)
    at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:294)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:268)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:336)

I know it can be installed from yum but that points to gcj which I dont
want.
