Are your sed commands trying to strip off the leading
./ , then escape dollar signs found?  If so, the
second probably wouldn't be relevant:

<pathconvert>
  <fileset dir="${basedir}" includes="**/*.class" />
  <globmapper from="${basedir}/*" to="*" />
</pathconvert>

Something like that?
