Actually in my pom file from where the ant script is called the 
following code is included:
        <dependencies>
            <dependency>
                <groupId>ant-contrib</groupId>
                <artifactId>ant-contrib</artifactId>
                <version>20020829</version>
            </dependency>
        </dependencies>
