It sounds like the remote process is not exiting, or holding onto the
stdout/stderr.  If you run your sample with a "real" rsh, does the rsh
exit automatically?

ie: rsh host ". ./.profile ; cd abc ; ... ; exit"

Is "\u038" '&'?

Also within "try" shrell script, I have a nohup command

ie inside try.sh. I have

nohup ./start &

where "start" is another shell script
