Thanks.  I was reading the javadocs on Sun, they're not very easy to 
understand and most of the examples don't apply to my case.  I'll google 
some more. Thanks.

In your installation of Java SDK documentation read carefully  

Specifically, don't think you can put a -d switch after *.java
