Ah. Ant1.7 has an xml file, fetch.xml, that can pull down extra 
artifacts from the maven 2 repository. Unless the xalan dependency asks 
for serializer.jar, then we'd have to modify that file to pull it down. 
We could also bundle it with xerces if that would help ant :)
