Thank you for the assistance people. I modified the build.xml file as 
follows.

Again the build is failed and it generates the following exception.
BUILD FAILED

file:C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/tharanga/workspace/AntRunner/build.xml:4: 
taskdef class com.ibm.ive.eccomm.bde.ui.tooling.ant.SubmitJarBundle cannot 
be found

 I have included the smfbdTasks jar in the build path(now I am running this 
class in Eclipse 3.2) and I have copied it in to the ant_home/lib file as 
well. So what is the error I have made this time. Sorry to trouble you 
people. But I am  kind of stuck in here.
