Subject RE: regarding Ant
Date Fri, 24 Mar 2006 17:00:28 GMT
Ant can be used for any automation that it is capable of. It can also be
extended to do other things that it is not currently capable of. For
example, We have a lot of automation that handles documents that we need
to import into LiveLink, a document management system. I wrote a custom
Ant task to load documents into LiveLink and we are using Ant to do the
automation and loads. I prefer Ant over shell scripts for several
reasons: they are easy to write, easy to read, platform independent, can
be debugged with Eclipse, provide great error handling, easily
configurable with property files, and I like the MailLogger.
