i overread that in the manual of antcontrib.

The line =
...the Assert task must be 'turned on' using the property
ant.enable.asserts 

should be put between <b> </b>

With =

<!-- Import AntContrib -->
<taskdef resource="net/sf/antcontrib/antlib.xml" />

and after that

<property name="ant.enable.asserts" value="true"/>

at the beginning of my script, assert works like expected now.

Let's start from the beginning... did you set the
property ant.enable.asserts when running the target?
