Ah, I found it.  Not surprisingly, I made a couple of mistakes in the
exclude patterns.  The corrected elements are:

   <exclude name="**/ABCRequestProcess*/**"/>
   <exclude name="**/ABCReplyProcess*/**"/>
   <exclude name="**/DEFRequestProcess*/**"/>
   <exclude name="**/DEFReplyProcess*/**"/>
