I thought of doing it from BSF but I don't know what language supports COM
automation. I can't find VBScript on the BSF page. I was hoping to do it
with Jython and am trying to get that to work.

Maybe user <script>.
This requires BSF (be careful which version) which, amongst other
languages, can run VBScript on Windows platforms.

And COM automation from VBScript, as I'm sure you know, is a doddle.

I want to perform some MS Word automation from an Ant script (for
building release notes). I think that the way to do it is via the COM
interface that Word supplies. 

 

Does anyone know how this could be done, or have a better approach for
me before I do more research on how this can accomplished?
