But if these tasks are dependent on a particular jdk then why isn't that placed in the library
dependencies table?

I suspect it's related to the JDK they require.
Any task that requires more that JDK 1.2 has to
be optional. But for these two, it may be a left
over from when JDK 1.1 was the norm!? --DD
