That fixed it! Thank you for this. I was confused in this file:
   http://www.beanshell.org/manual/bsf.html#BSF_Bean_Scripting_Framework
by the line:
   Add the BSF bsf.jar file to ANT_HOME/lib or the classpath.
because the link leads to a dead IBM page.. I (naively) assumed that the 
latest beanshell download was the one I wanted.
