The problem was not with the custom ant task. I was not specifying the base directory while
running the script with cron. When I gave the base directory using -Dbasedir=.., it worked

Are you sure that your CustomPropertySelector does not catch an
Exception or goes in error and therefore the pack.list will not be set ?
