Nice one.

All I need to do now is parse the name to get the last directory out of
it, which shouldn't be too hard.

A quick peek at the code indicates that the basedir
property should be set on the subbuild Project.  If
you have the source distro you should be able to run
ant -f $ANT_HOME/src/etc/testcases/taskdefs/subant.xml
to see the proof.
