Subject RE: Gnu make files to Ant
Date Tue, 15 Jun 2004 06:25:41 GMT

Hi Mani,
I did the same thing here at my company. It is very important to know
what are the phases you do in your build. Means, make yourself a list
Of the phases you run ( for example : generators,
compilation, javadocs, jar, war, junit, whatever....) and then start
converting the macros of your makes
Into ant properties. Most of the build phases are common and you can
place the targets(phases) in one generic place (lib.xml) and then you
can
import it in your build.xml and in this file you just run the <antcall>
for every target you want to run for any application.
If you need some samples I can send you.

Regards
netaB

Subject: Gnu make files to Ant

Hello:

I am going to undertake a project requiring me to convert all gnu make
files to ant scripts. Do any of you have any tips, tricks, tools, URLs,
war stories to share on this conversion, to ease the process? Thanks.

Mani
