Subject RE: Email alias
Date Fri, 02 Apr 2004 22:32:25 GMT
Try using ALIASXXX@yyy.com to see if that helps the situation some. I have had problems
with alias names when sending mail from outside the MS Exchange server to an alias that is
known on the Exchange server. I would suppose that this is a problem with the Exchange
server and the way it processes the addresses it receives.

HTH
Thanks.  Bill

Subject: RE: Email alias

	My customer (the one whom provides me email address) has also a MS Exchange server as
mail server; I have tried with aliases, but failed; the content of my
MailLogger.properties file is:

MailLogger.mailhost=mail.host.ip.address
MailLogger.from=xxx@yyy.com
MailLogger.failure.to=ALIASXXX
MailLogger.failure.subject=Test
MailLogger.success.to=ALIASYYY
MailLogger.success.subject=TestSuccess

Then, I use following line to invoke ant:

$ ant  compile-dev -DMailLogger.properties.file ./MailLogger.properties -logger
org.apache.tools.ant.listener.MailLogger

The mail was sent, but returned to me since the MS Exchange server was not able to deal
with the alias as mail address.

When I changed the line:

MailLogger.success.to=ALIASYYY

to

MailLogger.success.to=aaa@yyy.com

Succeed with no trouble at all.

I am pretty sure there are other ways to invoke MailLogger.properties file, but that's
what I could found on a quick view to ant code (which is always a good place to look for
answers when you have no clue about ant's behavior).

Hope this helps & Have a nice weekend

-LC
