I tried what you recommended and it did not work. Here
is the code:
 <target name="myTarget">
   <chgrp group="myGroup" verbose="true" type="both">
     <fileset dir="${someDir}"/>
   </chgrp>
 </target>

I ran ant with the -v switch and here is the the last
few lines of the output:
 [chgrp]
'/var/tomcat4/work/Standalone/localhost/test/Launch'
 [chgrp]
'/var/tomcat4/work/Standalone/localhost/test/Utilities'
 [chgrp]
'/var/tomcat4/work/Standalone/localhost/tomcat-docs'
 [chgrp]
'/var/tomcat4/work/Standalone/localhost/webdav'
 [chgrp]
 [chgrp] The ' characters around the executable and
arguments are
 [chgrp] not part of the command.

 [chgrp] Result: -1
 [chgrp] Applied chgrp to 1730 files and 209
directories.

BUILD SUCCESSFUL
Total time: 6 seconds

Absolutely nothing has changed though. I am logged in
as root, so I don't think it is a permissions issue.

Any other ideas?
