<record> does in fact do what i'd like. i've used the -l <logfilename> feat=
ure of ant to direct all output to a log file, and was thinking that i coul=
d set a property in the build file to make sure that logging occurs.  i'd r=
ather the output only go to the log file, but i'll live with the record fun=
ctionality.
