I do not know the for task, but try this line
      <for list="${cm1Application.source},${cm2Application.source},${cm3Application.source}"
param="archive">

your error message means that the xml of your build.xml is not well formed.
to check well formedness, you can try opening your xml file in Internet 
Explorer or Mozilla. There are error messages when xml files are not 
well formed.
