Also, you could use the concepts at
http://wiki.apache.org/ant/NewAntFeaturesInDetail/PresetDef
, the part that begins "It is interesting to note..."
to set up a platform-dependent preset to do the right
thing; i.e. use a <presetdef><copy> on windows, and a
<macrodef><apply exec="cp"> on unix... probably have
to do some more magic for directory structures in the
case of <apply>... or, for that matter, you could use
a <macrodef> to sequence <copy> and <chmod>, but if
I'm not mistaken you would have to know what
permissions you wanted to set in this case.
