Subject RE: Running ANT 1.6.0
Date Mon, 12 Jan 2004 19:27:32 GMT

well lemme provide the entire 'classpath' contents, with last line showing the java installation,
 i've not set anything related to ANT in the 'classpath'

%CLASSPATH%;.;C:\Program Files\IBM\IBM CICS Transaction Gateway\Classes\CTGCLIENT.JAR;C:\Program
Files\IBM\IBM CICS Transaction Gateway\Classes\CTGSERVER.JAR;C:\Program Files\IBM\IBM CICS
Transaction Gateway\Classes\CICSJ2EE.JAR;C:\Program Files\IBM\IBM CICS Transaction Gateway\Classes\CTGSAMPLES.JAR;D:\IBM
Connectors\classes;.;E:\SQLLIB\java\db2java.zip;E:\SQLLIB\java\runtime.zip;%NUANCE%\java\nsc.jar;%NUANCE%\java\vcomsc.jar;%NUANCE%\java\swingall.jar;D:\javamail-1.1.3\mail.jar;D:\jaf-1.0.2\activation.jar;D:\oracle\ora81\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip;D:\javamail-1.1.3\lib\pop3.jar;D:\javamail-1.1.3\lib\smtp.jar;D:\javamail-1.1.3\lib\mailapi.jar;D:\javamail-1.1.3\lib\imap.jar;E:\jswdk\lib\jspengine.jar;E:\jswdk\lib\servlet.jar;E:\jswdk\lib\xml.jar;D:\oracle\ora81\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip;E:\SQLLIB\bin;E:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\lib\dt.jar;E:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\lib\tools.jar;E:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\jre\lib\rt.jar

also,

ANT_HOME = E:\ANT\apache-ant-1.6.0

JAVA_HOME = E:\j2sdk1.4.2_03

PATH = E:\ANT\apache-ant-1.6.0\bin;E:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\bin etc etc

      well, now do i've to install Tomcat and set the 'cataline_path' variable also.

seems like you've got issues with your classpath, as Tonté found in its mail last 1/9/2004

------------
I figured it out. For some reason when I set my classpath to
'%java_home%;%catalina_home%' Ant will not work, but when I set my classpath
using the absolute path to both my jdk and tomcat, it works. I am nolonger
getting java.lang.IllegalArgumentException.

Thanks for the support!

As u know the other variables are set as,
      ANT_HOME =  E:\ANT\apache-ant-1.6.0
     JAVA_HOME = E:\j2sdk1.4.2_03
      so if i set PATH=%ANT_HOME%;%JAVA_HOME%, and run ant from cmd prompt,
       'ant' is not recognised as an internal or external command ...

Did you update your PATH environment variable as well? What does it look
like?

Subject: Running ANT 1.6.0

Hi,
      I'm facing a similar problem with ANT 1.6.0, as what Mr.Tonte Pouncil
faced. I've followed all the messages between Tonte & Dominique Devienne,
also from Mr.Fyler. But i couldn't fix the problem,  I work on a WIN2K
professional, I've set the environment variables as

     ANT_HOME =  E:\ANT\apache-ant-1.6.0
     JAVA_HOME = E:\j2sdk1.4.2_03
     CLASSPATH = E:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\jre\lib\rt.jar
     Do i need to install Tomcat to make ANT 1.6.0 work. Also i've not
installed 'catalina_home' variable, as i don't have Tomcat.

     pls do help me out,

thanx in advance,
Vijay
