You could create the following:

Then pass the parameter in on the command line...

ant -Denv=linux ...

Perhaps it could default to windows...

<target name="setEnv" unless="env">
	<property name="env" value="windows"/>

Then on linux you could create an alias in the shell...

alias ant="ant -Denv=linux"

There must be someone who is dealing with the same issue. I am trying to take 
multiplatform builds with different ${}.properties file. Linux is not a 
problem, What about Windows? It becomes Windows files. 

Can someone enlight me the better way to do this with one word .properties
