The beta is very stable. Historically Ant has been very stable even outside
the beta periods and just about all of the active Ant committers are using
Ant on a daily basis built from CVS. The only area of potential major change
in the current beta is in the area the <macrodef>.

More philosophically, if nobody tests the beta, the subsequent release will be
as stable as the beta :-).

The more people that test the beta, especially the new features, the more
stable the release will be. Also, in general, it is faster to get something
fixed in the beta phase for the impdending release than to discover a problem
in the release and have to wait till the next release. So, if you want to see
if the beta does something for you, please do give it a try.

Conor
