It should work that way.  Ant cannot guess the installation location
of the other JDK, so the executable attribute is necessary.  And only
looking at the executable, it cannot guess the JDK level (and will
assume it's the same like the current JDK).

The only caveat is if you use the source attribute of your <javac>
task as this one would get passed in, even if you set compiler to
javac1.1 - but that wouldn't make any sense anyway.
