Subject AW: reason for difference in file sizes
Date Thu, 18 Sep 2003 14:29:29 GMT
Hi Parag,

1) run ant in verbose mode to see which options are used for your compiler when compiling
with the <javac/> task. This means you start your build with ant -verbose [target] (maybe
you need to also set fork="true" to get all this info)

2) it is possible that the debug option is not the one that you use on the command line. This
would explain a difference in the size of class files. If you refer to the documentation of
the <javac/> task, you should be able to use the same options as when you run your builds
from the command line or from a batch file.

Hopes this helps,

Antoine

Betreff: reason for difference in file sizes

HI,

A difference was observed in sizes of *.class files
when compiling with ant and direct use of the javac

My question is as follows :-
1) what is the reason behind the same ?
2) Does this difference impact the way these files are interpretted ?

regards,
Parag
