I think it may also set some system properties like
-Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBClass=com.inprise.vbroker... and -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBSingletonClass=...
(not *exactly* sure of the names, but it's something close to that)
 
These are the Java system properties that determine which ORB is instantiated.
Unfortunately I'm away from my notes on this until next week but I suggest you look for the
values of these system properties in a working environment and apply these values in your
<java> task.
