Subject RE: Build Successful Message

Well sometimes if does give the "BUILD SUCCESSFUL" message and at other
times it doesn't.

I have looked for presence of System.exit() but it doesn't exist. If I use
-verbose -debug I don't get any errors and get lots of green output lines
which enlist the various steps/tasks being performed.

I am trying to record specific instances/conditions when it gives out and
when it doesn't give the Success Message. Then I might post a bug or
something.

Eclipse does have its own build loggers for the exact reasons that Antoine
presents.
We do try hard to present similar output to when Ant is used from the
command line.
If there is a difference that seems like a bug (as in this case), use the
Eclipse newsgroups (news.eclipse.org) and the Eclipse bugzilla
(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/) to report the problem

Thanks
Darins

The default logger is the piece of code which displays output from your
work
when you start ant from the command line.

IDE's most likely supply their own logger, so that the IDE's can connect
the
events happening in ant with specific locations in your build files, and
allow you for instance to find the error location quickly if something
went
wrong, ...

A non default logger may for instance make the border of the box
displaying
ant output in the IDE green instead of printing a message "BUILD
SUCCESSFUL".

I do not know Eclipse, so I dont know how a build in Eclipse visually
looks
like.

Cheers,

Antoine
