Subject Jar with inline manifest:Please help
Date Thu, 24 Jul 2003 16:25:38 GMT

I am using the following target to jar up files

<target name="withSrc" depends="init">
	<jar jarfile="${builds.dir}/withSrc/ComSuzBRSiebelContact.jar">
    <attribute name="Built-By" value="${}"/>
    <section name="common">
      <attribute name="Specification-Title" value="Example"/>
      <attribute name="Specification-Version" value="${version}"/>
      <attribute name="Specification-Vendor" value="Example Organization"/>
      <attribute name="Implementation-Title" value="common"/>
      <attribute name="Implementation-Version" value="${version} ${TODAY}"/>

      <attribute name="Implementation-Vendor" value="Example Corp."/>
  <fileset dir="${src.dir}" excludes="**/*Test*" />
   		<fileset dir="${classes.dir}" excludes="**/*Test*" />

The resulting jar just has the META-INF folder with manifest file and no
other files specified in the fileset task are jarred up.But if I use

<jar jarfile="${builds.dir}/withSrc/ComSuzBRSiebelContact.jar"
All files are jarred up properly as specified in the target along with the
external manifest specified.

I am trying to run this with Ant 1.4.1 and also with Ant 1.5.3. Also I
wanted to specify the file attribute in	<manifest file="MANIFEST-MF">
But both versions say this attribute is not supported or something.

My ultimate aim is to update the version in the manifest file to be equal to
the current timestamp and also get the manifest file in my basedir to be
able to see it.

Any clues.

Ant 1.5.2 and later fix numerous bugs in the manifest handling code of
<jar>. Any chance you could retry with 1.5.3-1?
