Subject RE: failure of xdoclet with nightly build from July 27th [was ] replace string in binary file
Date Mon, 28 Jul 2003 11:42:32 GMT
The failure seems to have been caused as a result of building with a new
version of Ant while there was an old version of Ant (and no new
version) in the webdoclet classpath.

ant -verbose didn't return any more than ant w/o -verbose (just:
[webdoclet] Running XDoclet failed. An IO error occured while reading
context data.).

There does seem to be something wrong here though, beyond the screw up
in my build.xml file: the failure wasn't treated as an error by Ant. The
script kept on building, failing only when it missed the web.xml file.

I will fix my build.xml and post if there are further problems (with
Xdoclet or otherwise) using nightly build.

David

replace string in binary file

David,

can you give more details about the failure of xdoclet with the nightly
build from July 27th :

- build file snippet,

- output from ant -verbose,

Cheers

I just tried to reproduce the problem using the nightly build from 27/7
and it works fine.

Now xdoclet has stopped working...

[webdoclet] Running XDoclet failed. An IO error occured while reading
context data.

Too bad it wasn't a current bug I'd found with the delete (or is it? :-)

I cannot reproduce David's problem with CVS head. So I will forget about
it.
I have tried this on my PC :
<project name="testdelete" default="delete" basedir="..">
      <property name="build.dir" value="${basedir}/build"/>
        <property name="work.dir" value="${build.dir}/work"/>
<target name="init">
<echo>
basedir=${basedir}
build.dir=${build.dir}
work.dir=${work.dir}
</echo>
<mkdir dir="${work.dir}"/>
<touch file="${work.dir}/some.garbage"/>
</target>
<target name="delete" depends="init">
  <delete failonerror="false" includeEmptyDirs="true">
            <fileset dir="${work.dir}"/>
        </delete>
</target>
</project>
