You will need to use a nightly build of ant.
Some issues with binary files have been solved.

With the nightly build the following should do
the trick:

<copy file="${binaryfile}" tofile="${modifiedbinaryfile}">
        <replacestring from="ASCIISTRING" to="ReplacedString"/>
