Subject Problem with <jar update="true" ...>
Date Tue, 08 Jul 2003 01:24:09 GMT
Hi,

We are running into some pretty weird problems with the jar task in Ant
1.5.3 with J2SE SDK 1.4.2 on Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP.

After running

  <jar jarfile="somefile.jar" update="true">
    <fileset dir="." includes="META-INF/ejb-jar.xml"/>
  </jar>

the MANIFEST.MF file in somefile.jar would get corrupted. Before the
update, the MANIFEST.MF contains only one Class-PATH: entry (with a
multiline list of jar files), something like:

Manifest-Version: 1.0
Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.5.3
Created-By: 1.4.2-b28 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
Class-Path: first.jar second.jar third.jar fourth.jar fifth.jar sixth.
 jar seventh.jar eighth.jar nineth.jar tenth.jar eleventh.jar twelfth.
 jar thirteenth.jar fourteenth.jar

After the update, the MANIFEST.MF file appears corrupted, in a variety
of ways. In one instance, it became:

Manifest-Version: 1.0
Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.5.3
Created-By: 1.4.2-b28 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
Class-Path: first.jar second.jar third.jar fourth.jar fifth.jar sixth.
 jar seventh.jar eighth.jar nineth.jar tenth.jar eleventh.jar twelfth.
 jar thirteenth.jar fourteenth.jar
Class-Path: first.jar second.jar third.jar fourth.jar fifth.jar sixth.
Class-Path: first.jar second.jar third.jar fourth.jar fifth.jar sixth.
Class-Path: first.jar second.jar third.jar fourth.jar fifth.jar sixth.
Class-Path: first.jar second.jar third.jar fourth.jar fifth.jar sixth.
Class-Path: first.jar second.jar third.jar fourth.jar fifth.jar sixth.
Class-Path: first.jar second.jar third.jar fourth.jar fifth.jar sixth.
Class-Path: first.jar second.jar third.jar fourth.jar fifth.jar sixth.
Class-Path: first.jar second.jar third.jar fourth.jar fifth.jar sixth.
Class-Path: first.jar second.jar third.jar fourth.jar fifth.jar sixth.
Class-Path: first.jar second.jar third.jar fourth.jar fifth.jar sixth.
Class-Path: first.jar second.jar third.jar fourth.jar fifth.jar sixth.
<...> repeated many times.

Has anyone experienced something similar?
