Try using the .bat file as the executable rather than cmd.exe.

This should help.

Subject:  RE: help with exec

More specifically I'm trying to use a exec to run a bat/cmd file that will
map a network drive before copying files over.

Here is the tag
<exec dir="${bin.dir}"  executable="cmd.exe" timeout="100000">
<arg path="intranet.bat" />
</exec>

my intranet.bat just contains
net use P: \\192.23.111.4\thisDrive

It just seems to hang at:

deploy:
     [exec] Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
     [exec] (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

It never finishes...

Thanks for your help!

I'm having the same problem, but I'm running Win (Newbie). It seems to hang
after I use the <exec> to call a cmd.exe. Basically, I just want to run a
cmd file that gives me a net use to map a drive.

Thanks!

Subject: help with exec

I am using exec task to execute a perl script that needs certain input.

The code snipped I am using is as follows:

  <exec dir="${dir}"
         executable="${PERL_HOME}/bin/perl" >
    <arg line="${SCRDIR}/templateFilter.pl" />
    <arg line="domain=${domain}"/>
    <arg line="< ${SCRDIR}/tpl/StartServer.bat.tpl >
StartServer_${domain}.bat"/>
   </exec>

This seems to hang and never reach conclusion. If I add a timeout, then
it quits after timeout. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Lakshmi
