Yeah, the entities tie is fragile and not tremendously versatile...
Someone mentioned an import function in 1.6 which would be cool...

But, you got what yaw got and ya make it work.

Personally I found Ant a little strange at first, almost like going from
procedural to OO, but after working with it a bunch it is real easy to
use, very easy to make productive tasks and easy to segment.  It just
takes some getting used to.

Really? I don't have much of a problem. Just declare all entities in a
DTD file and share it.

Use catalogs. Makes things *much* easier.
