Sounds like you might want to check out Abbot.

Abbot records all input into an xml file which can then be played back.
You can also test criteria at different points to make sure things are
working per the requirements.

Hello !
I know this may not be the best email list but lots of u deal with java,
so here it is:
does anybody know about (open source) java GUI tester tools that would
record in a session all the graphical events performed to a GUI  and be
able to replay them at ease (like a emacs does with lisp macros for
instance) ?
I know SUN began with this kinda stuff but this wasn't very probant the
last time I tried.
