Subject Problems with installation of Ant on Windows 2k server
Date Sat, 19 Apr 2003 05:38:29 GMT
hi all,

I have read the ant manual and done the following tasks for installing
ant on windows 2k server,
The following are the environment variables set
ANT_HOME = d:\ant
JAVA_HOME = d:\j2sdk1.4.1

PATH = c:\j2sdk1.4.1_02\bin;ANT_HOME\bin\;

The problem i am facing is
1) when i type ant on c drive it says ant is not recognised as an
internal or external command , even after setting the path..
2)when i run ant with the complete path info (c:\>d:\ant\bin\ant.bat),
its running java command the output is
Usage: java [-options] class [args...]
           (to execute a class)
   or java -jar [-options] jarfile [args...]
           (to execute a jar file)

where options include:
    -client to select the "client" VM
    -server to select the "server" VM
    -hotspot is a synonym for the "client" VM [deprecated]
                  The default VM is client.Usage: java [-options] class

    -cp -classpath <directories and zip/jar files separated by ;>
                  set search path for application classes and resources
                  set a system property
                  enable verbose output
    -version print product version and exit
    -showversion print product version and continue
    -? -help print this help message
    -X print help on non-standard options
                  enable assertions
                  disable assertions
    -esa | -enablesystemassertions
                  enable system assertions
    -dsa | -disablesystemassertions
                  disable system assertions

Can anybody tellme as to what is wrong here with the installation or the

environment setup...

tnx in advance
