If you have the Acrobat stuff installed on a PC, you can go from .DOC to
.PDF by opening the word doc in word with the /print option and spec the PDF
printer, but you get it in whatever the last saved view was -i.e. with
markup showing or not when tracking changea.

Maybe openoffice lets you do things differently.

Not directly with Ant. But Ant can start programs for doing that.

E.g. you can use Apache FOP for creating PDF from XML.
AFAIK Fop comes with some Ant task for doing that transformation.
