I'm confused... <javac> doesn't need -ea. Only <java> does. You don't want
to run the Javac compiler with assertions enabled, but your code right?
Don't confuse compiling assertions in the bytecode, and enabling them at
runtime.

So to run *your* code with assertion, fork <java> and use a nested <jvmarg>
for explicitly specify -ea. --DD

I am using the source="1.4" option in the javac task but where does the -ea
switch go? Compiling code with asserts is a nice step first step but how
does one use the various assert options available in javac, most notably
enabling them?
