what is the syntax for chmod on the ftp task?

tried this with no success:

    <ftp server="www.foo.com"
         remotedir="/usr/foo/"
         userid="user"
         password="pwd"
         verbose="yes"
         depends="no"
         ignoreNoncriticalErrors="true"
         skipFailedTransfers="true"
         chmod="ugo+rwx"
