Subject RE: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: sun/tools/javac/Main Error
Date Mon, 30 Dec 2002 16:03:13 GMT

Thanks for the replies. My JAVA_HOME is set to C:\jdk1.3.0_02. However, I
did find the issue - SilverStream has another javac.exe in a different
directory - I point to this one and it works - go figure. Sorry for the
confusion and thanks for the help.

Brian

Not only should JAVA_HOME be set, but shouldn't the PATH variable also
include %JAVA_HOME%\bin ?

Do you have JAVA_HOME set and, if so, what is it set to? Make sure it
points to the root of your JDK, not the JRE. For instance...

JAVA_HOME = C:\j2sdk1.4.1_01

You shouldn't need to put tools.jar in any classpath you create within your

build file. Ant needs that info when it runs itself. Adding it after the
fact in the build file will not work nor is it useful anyway.
