Not easily.  The way I've done it in the past is:

1) echo "$name.jar.path" to a temp file.
2) use loadfile with an ExpandProperties filter on it to load the contents 
of the file into a variable. This variable will contain the value of the 
expression you want
3) delete the temp file.
4) use the variable you have loaded...
