Subject my C compiler doesn't understand ant options
Date Mon, 28 Oct 2002 14:47:27 GMT
Hi,

I'm trying to connect Tomcat 4.1.12 with Apache HTTP 2.0.43 under SGI IRIX
6.5 using jakarta-tomcat-connectors-4.1.12-src, but I can't compile the
native part of the mod_jk2 connector.

The problem is in the "-W" option sent by ant to the my C compiler, it
doesn't understand it:

>ant native
...
[so] Command:libtool --mode=compile cc -c -o
/usr/local/jakarta-tomcat-connectors-4.1.12-src/jk/build/jk/apache2/apache-2
.0/mod_jk.o -I/usr/local/jakarta-tomcat-connectors-4.1.12-src/jk/native/comm
on -I/usr/local/apache2/include -I/usr/java2v14/../include -g -W -D_REENTRAN
T -DCHUNK_SIZE=4096 -DREUSE_WORKER -DUSE_APACHE_MD5
/usr/local/jakarta-tomcat-connectors-4.1.12-src/jk/native/apache-2.0/mod_jk.
c
...
[so] cc ERROR parsing -W: bad syntax for option

There are two workarrounds, but I don't know how to to it:

1) Use gcc instead of cc
I tried using build.compiler.cc="gcc" in the build.properties file, or
doing the equivalent in the build.xml file. No effect, ant still calls cc.

2) Change the options sent by ant to the compiler.
But I can't find where is specified the "-W" option! Not in the
build.xml files.

Any help?
Thank a lot !

Manuel
