Subject RE: Maintaining dependencies across antcalls
Date Tue, 03 Sep 2002 22:33:47 GMT
This is how I understood it from Peter's email a while back:

Running default 'test' target (:
innerpre1 (simple up to now ;-)
LOGINFO (pre1 skipped, as already executed)
LOGINFO (innerpre1 skipped, as already executed)
LOGINFO (c skipped, as already executed)

Like I said before, Peter said a full static analysis of the dependency
graph was performed as usual, and the notation only removed the need for a
bunch of intermediate targets. Peter, please correct me if I'm quoting you
incorrectly, or saying anything stupid... It wouldn't be the first time ;-)

Hope this helps. --DD

I'm having problems in defining what targets should run.
In this case, what is the target run sequence?

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<project default="test" basedir="." name="test">
     <target  name="pre1">
        <echo message="pre1"/>

     <target  name="pre2">
        <echo message="pre2"/>

     <target  name="test" depends="pre1,innerpre1,test2">

     <target  name="test2" depends="pre1,pre2,c">
        <echo message="test-before"/>
        <depends target="c"/>
        <echo message="test-after"/>

     <target  name="c" depends="innerpre1,innerpre2">
        <echo message="c"/>

     <target  name="innerpre1">
        <echo message="innerpre1"/>

     <target  name="innerpre2">
        <echo message="innerpre2"/>
